Quarter 3:  1 January to 31 March

mlcoa completed approximately 2350 veteran medical assessments. The average time from receiving a referral request from DVA to the finalised report being sent to DVA was 58 business days.

The increase in the time from receiving a referral request from DVA to the finalised report being sent to DVA in Quarter 3 data was due to:

  • Seasonal variation due to the holiday period (January) affecting availability of doctors and veterans.
  • An additional 42.5% increase in completed veteran medical assessments in Quarter 3 in comparison to Quarter 2 showing a 135% increase in completed assessments between Quarter 1 and Quarter 3.
  • Delays in availability and scheduling of appointments for imaging (requested after the IME assessment, the results of which are needed to finalise the report).

Quarter 2:  1 October to 31 December

mlcoa completed approximately 1650 veteran medical assessments. The average time from receiving a referral request from DVA to the finalised report being sent to DVA was 34.71 business days.

The increase in the time from receiving a referral request from DVA to the finalised report being sent to DVA in Quarter 2 data was due to:

  • Seasonal variation due to the festive period affecting availability of doctors and veterans.
  • A 65% increase in completed veteran medical assessments in Quarter 2 in comparison to Quarter 1.

Quarter 1:  1 July to 30 September

mlcoa completed approximately 1000 veteran medical assessments. The average time from receiving a referral request from DVA to the finalised report being sent to DVA was 30.16 business days.
