Mental Health Event 3 – Managing Personality Disorders In The Workplace
Individuals with Personality Disorders, are often difficult to recognise and can from time to time cause disruption in the workplace.
To assist in the identification of Personality Disorders they are organised into three separate ‘Clusters’. Cluster A for the odd or eccentric, Cluster B for the dramatic, emotional or erratic and Cluster C for the anxious or fearful. Dr James Hundertmark, Consultant Psychiatrist, gave insight into 6 different disorders which fall under these different clusters; Paranoid, Antisocial, Histrionic, Narcissistic, Borderline and Obsessive Compulsive.
In the discussion, Dr Hundertmark spoke about the signs to look for when identifying each disorder. He also used real-life examples to show the audience how to reach out to such workers and point them toward realisation of their full potential.
The feedback from this session was well received with comments such as; “Wonderful session!”, “Really engaging presentation” and “Good to see subject presented without getting bogged down in individual’s personal situations”.
Our final event in our Mental Health series is “Mental Health Event 4 – Drugs & Alcohol” will be presented by Mr Martin Jackson on Wednesday 26th October. Please call 03 9650 2000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
