Learning And Behaviour Problems In Children
On Wednesday, September 28th, Associate Professor Jeff Prebble, Paediatrician, presented to a group of clients representing the CTP insurance, legal and government arena. The event, held at Christies Conference Centre, entitled “Learning and Behaviour Problems in Children”, was an intimate session encompassing 17 attendees.
Associate Professor Prebble commenced his presentation with an overview as to how he found himself working in Paediatric Medicine. Associate Professor Prebble then proceeded to highlight the incidence of childhood learning and behavioural problems in Australia, its aetiology and critical factors relating to such, such as, for example, the child’s environment and overall health. Such discussion then lead into an overview on Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. The session concluded with three case studies whereby audience members were asked to ‘diagnose’ the condition based on presenting evidence.
Overall, the presentation was very well received by attendees with the event receiving such praise as ‘(a) really good presentation’ and ‘a thoroughly enjoyable and engaging presentation’.
The next installment of mlcoa’s education series, scheduled for October, will be hosted by Dr Curtis Gray, Psychiatrist, on the topic of “Somatisation”.
