And that’s a wrap: Impairment Ratings in Psychiatry
On Thursday the 27th September 2018, mlcoa QLD hosted “Impairment Ratings in Psychiatry” presented by Dr Curtis Gray, Psychiatrist and Mr George William Senior Associate from BT Lawyers.
Dr Gray and Mr Williams spoke about the implications of confusing risk factors with pre-existing conditions and subsequent understanding in regards to grief/ bereavement/loss, illness and substance effects. The pair also discussed that the impairment rating should follow a thorough and relevant assessment which comes to a reasoned conclusion about the diagnosis, and incorporates all pertinent issues with respect to treatment such that prognostic statements, including those about work, can be justified and supported.
